At French’s, a McCormick Canada brand, our commitment to community extends beyond the bottle. Food is more than fuel - it becomes an emotional experience that can impact a community in ways greater than we can imagine.
Hunger is an issue in Canada. According to Food Banks Canada, “Thirteen percent of Canadians live in a state of food insecurity, which means they do not have reliable access to adequate amounts of safe, good-quality, nutritious food.” Together, with French’s, The Grocery Foundation and Toonies for Tummies, we are creating a vision for zero hunger in Canada.
Working with partners including the Ontario Student Nutrition Program Network (Ontario), and in western Canada, Breakfast Club of Canada, eligible school-based student nutrition programs will benefit from donations made in-store and online to provide breakfast for a hungry child. This act will fill hungry bellies, nourish minds and positively promote wellbeing.
French’s is proud to produce our mustard from 100% Canadian mustard seeds, and our ketchup using the best of Canadian produce. Tomatoes are sourced from Leamington, ON, with the final product made and bottled in Toronto.
“We are experiencing a huge amount of love from Canadians, and we believe this is a result of the incredible flavour produced by using 100 percent Canadian tomatoes,” shares Trevor Squires, General Manager, McCormick Canada. “We are committed to continuing our made-in-Canada approach to French’s Ketchup, which includes building on established relationships with Canadian farmers and creating more Canadian jobs.”
French's is proud to be the largest CPG sponsor of Food Banks Canada, and in 2019 will donate approximately 3 million meals to Canadian families in need.
“It is truly inspiring to see this effort come to life with retailers and brands. French’s is excited to make meaningful contributions and positively impact the children and families in our community.” – Trevor Squires, General Manager, McCormick Canada.
